Erie DAWN wishes to thank all the walkers and donors who participated in the Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield community fundraiser event, Walk for a Healthy Community 2008.  Altogether, Erie DAWN raised $6,640!  This income during the summer months is very needed and appreciated!  Thank you all, again!

Enterprise Award

Rob Barish, Enterprise Rent-A-Car Area Rental Manager presents a check for $2,200 to Kimberly Lytle, administrator for Erie DAWN, Inc. This support will assist Erie DAWN in meeting costs for intensive case management which may be available to an estimated sixty-nine percent of the women that it serves in its transitional, supportive housing program for homeless women. Intensive case services will be available to help those women having drug, alcohol and/or mental health diagnoses.

Sam's Club Award

A check for $1,500 was presented to Erie DAWN, Inc. by Sam's Club employees to assist DAWN's providing supportive services to homeless women and their children. The donation complemented Erie DAWN's Christmas holiday fundraiser No Room at the Inn. No Room at the Inn

The Erie family of Donald and Sonya Roae-Nicholson was a winner in Erie DAWN, Inc.’s raffle at its holiday event No Room at the Inn. The “Christmas Story,” a porcelain Nativity and the “Story of Jesus” will especially be enjoyed by son Calum and daughter Riley. Other raffle winners were Mary Fedorko, Sr. Ricarda Vincent, Nick Srnka, Sam Purchase, Sallie Barnes, Neil Ferringer, Anna Scheibe, Gayle Chiocco, and John Szwarc.

Tea & Tasteful Treasures

Erie DAWN entertained more than 60 women at the Erie Woman’s Club in early September 2007 in order to introduce its cookbook, “Tasteful Treasures.” Samples of some of the dessert and candy recipes in the cookbook were served. Enjoying the event are, left to right, Sr. Mary Claire Kennedy, SSJ, Chair of the Erie DAWN Board of Directors, Kimberly Lytle, Administrator, Atty. Melissa LaFata, Board Member and Erie County Judge Elizabeth Kelly, guest speaker. Pictured in front of Judge Kelly is her daughter Kelly Anne Witchcoff.

Debra Deboe, Erie DAWN's administrative Assistant, is ready to take orders for the agency's cookbook, Tasteful Treasures.
The books are for sale for $8 and contain special recipes by such notables as Edwina Gately, Erie poet and writer; Judge Elizabeth Kelly, Erie County judge; Gov. Ed Rendell, governor of Pennsylvania; Pat Monahan, world-famous musician; Amanda Post, WICU news commentator; Federal PA Senator Arlen Specter and many others.
